Happy Holidays Brothers and Sisters,
There is no greater gift than to be a union member and I want to thank you for being part of our great union. You show up every day ready to work, ready to use your skilled craftsmanship to build up our skyline, and ready to make life better for all workers across New York City.
During the year, it’s easy to get caught up in everything that working entails – project timelines, deadlines, union activity, local union meetings, family events, and so much more. That’s why it is important for each of us to remember to take this time over the next week to relax when possible, reflect on how fortunate we are to have good union benefits, and remember that even if we have differences, we are a stronger together.
As 2021 draws to a close, I would like to personally thank the hardworking members in the field, as well as the staff of the NYC District Council of Carpenters for all the outstanding work that you do throughout the year. Whether it is applying your skills to build a superstructure, getting out the vote for RISE, keeping a local or department operational, or rallying equality, justice, and fairness every day, each of you works tirelessly to make sure that the voice of labor is seen and heard.
On behalf of the entire District Council, I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, a healthy and Happy New Year, and continued success in 2022.
Fraternally,
Joseph Geiger
Executive Secretary-Treasurer
