“Today is a sad day for the New York City District Council of Carpenters. Our hearts break as we announce the untimely passing of our union brother, Wilbert Drummond, 57, who suddenly left us on Friday, March 24th, while working at the future site of the JP Morgan Chase headquarters located at 270 Park Avenue in Manhattan. Wilbert was about to celebrate his 25th year in the brotherhood and was a proud member of Local 157. To all who knew him, he was a quiet man, a talented carpenter, a hard worker, and a dedicated member of our great union. He was a well-respected Shop Steward for Certified Interiors, and he embodied true leadership qualities. Day in and day out, Wilbert always looked out for the best interest of his crew, while producing some of the most iconic buildings in the city. We mourn our fallen brother alongside his family and friends, coworkers, and fellow union brothers and sisters. As a Brotherhood we will carry him with us. Please keep his wife, his two daughters, and his entire family in your prayers.”

-Joseph A. Geiger, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the New York City District Council of Carpenters
