The Member Engagement Program was launched by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners (UBC) in 2025 and marks a significant evolution of traditional member committees. This initiative brings all member engagement efforts together under a single, unified framework.
This is a supportive community for retired members in good standing to meet for social engagement, share interests, volunteer activities, and discuss issues affecting retirees in the union. Together, we can help provide guidance and support for the next generation
Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10AM.
All meetings are held on Zoom. Please register in advance.

SIB supports female members by providing assistance in obtaining craft training and leadership skills; by being advocates on women issues; and by mentoring new members and even potential members.
Women are in every area of the trade and the District Council: as shop stewards, superintendents and lead instructors; on the staff of the District Council and locals; and, of course, on job sites—as carpenters on all kinds of projects, millwrights fine-tuning turbines, pile drivers, floorcoverers, and industrial workers.
The Sisters in the Brotherhood’s mission is to create a network of active Sisters who will promote the values of leadership, strength, and unity within the labor movement. Our valuable mentoring network provides our Sisters with the tools to be confident and successful in the highly competitive construction industry.

The New York City District Council of Carpenters Latino Club provides support and valuable information for members and visitors. We support our union and the organized labor movement, while engaging with communities as union carpenters in the New York Metropolitan area.
Carpenters are often underrepresented and exploited by nonunion contractors who falsely claim that the UBC does not welcome Latino Carpenters.
We urge unorganized carpenters to join the New York City District Council of Carpenters. All are welcome!
