Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This Thursday is a time for family, food, and fun. As we enjoy this Independence Day, let us be thankful for our freedoms and all the opportunities that this great country provides.
As a union, we work hard to help ensure all workers have the rights and benefits we as union members enjoy. But on this day, let us remember those who have worked hard to ensure a better future for us. Let’s celebrate our heroes for all the sacrifices they’ve made and let us not forget that we stand together as a nation and as a people. Our forefathers established peace and basic human rights for all, but we must work to maintain it.
We’ve made long strides toward securing fair compensation for workers, advocating for job safety, and bringing to justice to those who would try to restrict the freedoms we’ve worked so hard to obtain. Our country gives us the means to share our voices and fight for what we believe, so we must speak louder than our adversaries and fight harder than our competitors.
On this special day, let us promise to always uphold union values and to help guide our nation toward peace, prosperity, and a brighter future for all.
In Solidarity,
Joseph Geiger
Executive Secretary-Treasurer
