Happy Independence Day

07.02.2021 L Boudreau

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

After a difficult year battling the pandemic, fighting for work, for labor-friendly legislation, and getting our Carpenters RISE campaign off the ground, this Independence Day is well-deserved. I am more than proud of all the hard work our membership has done. Our members truly rose to the occasion and as a union we were able to successfully navigate the shifting tides. But as we enjoy this time with our families, the food, and fun, let us be thankful for the freedoms and opportunities that this great country provides.

Let’s celebrate our heroes for all the sacrifices they’ve made and not forget that we stand together as a nation and as a people. If this past year has proven anything, it’s that we are all in this together and we must work to maintain the peace and basic human rights established by our forefathers.

We’ve made great strides by electing labor-friendly politicians who will support union work and advocate for job site safety and passed legislation that will hold unscrupulous contractors accountable for committing wage theft. Everything we’ve achieved, we’ve worked for. Let us be thankful that we live in a country that gives us the means to share our voices and fight for what we believe.

On this special day, we will promise to always uphold union values and to help guide our nation toward peace, prosperity, and a brighter future for all.

God bless America, God bless your families, and God bless the union. Happy Fourth of July to all!

In Solidarity,

Joseph Geiger
