Holiday Message from the District Council Executive Leadership

12.23.2024 Luke Marino

To our fellow union brothers and sisters,

As we enter the holiday season, let’s remember that the greatest gift any of us can hope for in life is the ability to provide for ourselves and our families. We are a union of 20,000 strong community builders who, thanks to those who wore tools before us and fought for our rights, have unlimited opportunities to make good money, afford excellent health benefits, and experience the ability to retire with dignity. That’s a gift that we’ve enjoyed for over 100 years and a gift we continue to protect.

Additionally, we couldn’t let the holiday season pass without thanking our apprentices, seasoned journeypersons, retirees, and even our District Council staff for how you contributed to our union this year. Your dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to our union and its values don’t go unnoticed.

As we look ahead to a promising 2025 and what our collective achievements will be, you can be confident that the entire leadership team will prioritize members’ best interests just as it has done over the last 10 years, and the union will continue to thrive despite changes in leadership. Brothers and sisters, never forget that our solidarity is the foundation of our strength. May we come back even stronger in the new year.

Now, as we top off 2024, please accept our season’s greetings. May your holidays, regardless of how you celebrate, be filled with warmth and the abundance of happiness for you and your loved ones. From all of us here at the NYC District Council of Carpenters, we wish you Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!

Forever at your service,
