Job Description:

The Carpenters Training Center is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Wood Framing/ House Framing Interior Systems Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide hands-on training to members in the installation of utilizing the correct tools, techniques, and materials. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field, with the ability to guide members through the full process of installation, preparation, and maintenance. This position requires strong communication skills, a dedication to safety and quality, and a passion for educating the next generation of members.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement instructional programs on installation, including understanding blueprints, preparation and industry best practices.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and training preparation, material selection, installation techniques, and finishing processes.
  • Assess member progress, providing individualized feedback and support to foster growth and skill development.
  • Remain current on industry advancements, tools, techniques, and trends related to  Wood/ House Framing
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with members, fostering engagement and motivation in the learning process.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in doors and hardware installation or a related trade preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Interior Systems Ceilings installation.
  • Deep knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in Interior Systems Ceilings installation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse group of learners.
  • Basic proficiency with PC and tablets, as well as related software for instructional purposes.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze reports and data relevant to instructional outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing tasks through to completion.
  • Able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The hourly rate for this position is based on the General Foreman rate of the Collective Bargaining Agreement; currently $61.05 per hour.
