Union Carpenters in the News: Shame on Columbia University

Columbia University is planning building their new dorm project using unscrupulous contractors. These contractors have a history of substandard wages and discriminatory practices. Why is a school that charges students $61,000 a year in tuition going to pay workers three times less than the union workers down the street who are under a PLA?

On Friday, September 18, District Council and elected officials held a press conference to demand Trident General Contracting and Columbia University support workers, which kicked off our public information campaign against Trident General Contracting and Columbia University. We are asking Columbia University to support hardworking construction workers in NYC by committing to upholding the area standard wages and benefits on all their projects.
