Veterans Day Message from EST Joseph Geiger

11.11.2019 L Boudreau

Brothers and Sisters,

On this day, we remember and honor those who have bravely fought for our country, those who are still fighting, and those whose battles are just beginning. Our veterans are the backbone of this country, many of whom are members of the New York City District Council of Carpenters.

On behalf of the District Council, I would like to thank each and every veteran for putting his or her life on the line to preserve our freedoms. It’s not easy coming back to civilian life after defending our nation and frequently our veterans go underappreciated. That’s why the District Council continues support organizations like Helmets to Hardhats and Jared Allen’s Homes 4 Wounded Warriors. We want our veterans to feel at home in their communities and have first-rate career opportunities available to them.

It is because of dedicated men and women like our veterans that our society continues to thrive and remain strong. Their courage and selflessness do not go unrecognized. I urge everyone to keep those who are serving in their thoughts and prayers so they may come home safe and sound to their friends and families. Happy Veterans Day and God bless.

In Solidarity,
Joseph Geiger
Executive Secretary-Treasurer
